Another hydrogen–oxygen medical technology has been included in the Shandong Appropriate Health Technology Promotion Program!
Recently, the Shandong Provincial Health Commission issued the “Notice on the Announcement of the 2024 Shandong Provincial Appropriate Health Technology Promotion Projects,” designating “Application of Hydrogen–Oxygen Inhalation to Improve Respiratory Dysfunction in Pneumoconiosis” and 90 other technologies as 2024 Shandong Provincial Appropriate Health Technology Promotion Projects!

Research on Hydrogen–Oxygen in the Field of Pneumoconiosis
Silicosis is the most common, fastest-progressing, and most harmful type of pneumoconiosis[1]. Due to the lack of targeted therapeutic drugs, the prognosis is often poor, creating an urgent need for new treatment approaches.
Scholars from Shandong First Medical University and the Shandong Institute of Occupational Health and Occupational Disease Prevention have conducted related studies, with results showing that intervention with hydrogen–oxygen combined with tetrandrine can reduce pulmonary inflammation and oxidative stress, inhibit the epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) process, and improve silicosis-related fibrosis. In 2023, the Shandong Provincial Health Commission incorporated“Application of Hydrogen–Oxygen Inhalation to Improve Sleep-Disordered Breathing” and“Clinical Application of Hydrogen–Oxygen Nebulized Inhalation in the Perioperative Period of Total Hip Arthroplasty in Older Adults” into the 2023 Shandong Provincial Appropriate Health Technology Promotion Projects.
